Trevor Noah Will Leave “The Daily Show”

Trevor Noah plans to do ‘everything’ (and stand-up, of course) after ‘The Daily Show’ bows Thursday.

After the last broadcast of “The Daily Show,” which aired Tuesday night and concluded its eight-run, there will be “a lot of celebrating and jumping up and down,” Noah said in a radio interview Wednesday morning.

“I think you just have to do everything,” he said. “It’s a good show.”

Noah’s co-anchor, Trevor Noah, said in October last year that he would leave “The Daily Show” at the end of 2017. Noah said at the time that he had no plans to return to “The Daily Show” anytime soon.

“This is my last year with The Daily Show,” Noah said in October. “I was offered a job here and I didn’t take it.” He added: “I think at some point I’ll do another show. Maybe not ‘The Daily Show,’ but something else.”

Noah has been very upfront about his plans to leave “The Daily Show.” He has given numerous interviews and spoken to media about how he will leave “The Daily Show.”

Noah told Entertainment Weekly in September that he saw his “Daily Show” future coming into focus.

“As a career I think there’s no doubt in my mind I’ll end up doing one thing after that,” Noah said. “It changes, of course, but I know where I’m going.”
