Doyle did not sign a bill limiting gun purchases for those on the state’s terrorism watch list. He’s also working on a so-called “red flag” bill that would allow the governor to seize someone’s firearms if he or she was deemed a threat to “the public safety.”
Doyle said his priority this year is fixing the state’s transportation system and building a new nuclear power plant.
“What I will not do is to have our state not get any better over the next year and then see the state fall in the polls,” Doyle said during an interview from his office a day after he won election. He has never lost a statewide election.
