Patrice Evra: Former France star opens up about sexual abuse claims

Former France international and France footballer Patrice Evra has opened up about the bullying he experienced at school. The 35-year-old has also revealed claims of sexual abuse were made against him by a former football teammate. Evra, who was at home in his native Montreal, Canada, for a vacation, has called upon the French Football Federation to investigate and protect him. The former Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain player, who has one-year-old son with wife Kim Kardashian, said the claims were made by a former team-mate at the time. “The accusation is with a former teammate during my final years at the club. He was a guy who took advantage of me at school and he is my only witness now,” Evra said in a statement released by the French Federation on Wednesday. “I do not know if I need to take the protection of the federation any further. All I know is that the matter is closed. And I don’t want the federation to ask for anything more from me.” The former France captain continued: “In the past I was treated badly by boys, but for the past year and a half I lived the most wonderful time since I met Kim Kardashian. I really feel blessed to be here. “I was abused by some guys when I was a child. I never spoke about it or apologized. But it is over. When I say the past year and change was the most wonderful time, I truly mean it. And I am going to live it with Kimmy.” The player, who played at Old Trafford between 2006 and 2011, has also opened up about his battle with Lyme disease, which he has been battling for over a decade. Evra has been living with the disease since 2010 “I have been diagnosed with a rare form of Lyme disease,” he said. “It has affected the nerves and it has affected my body, and it means I am constantly on medication. I am in good spirits
